Arrested on April 27, 1941

Q: What is your nationality?

A: Although physically I am a subject of the Great Japanese Empire, spiritually I am striving to be a subject of God’s Kingdom.

A: I can do anything for Jehovah God, but I cannot do something for the nation while breaking God’s law. And even though what I have been doing is against secular law, it is unthinkable to change now.

Q: Defendant, have you paid tribute to the shrine since you were baptized?

A: No, I have not because it is said to worship nothing except Jehovah God.

Q: If there was a conflict between the order of the Japanese emperor and the order of Jehovah God, which one would you follow?

A: I obey Jehovah’s commands. I obey the order of the Japanese emperor under Jehovah’s commands.

Q: Are you going to work for the Deungdaesa again in the future?

A: I don’t think about the future work, but I will work for Jehovah God according to his will in the future too.
